For a long time, I didn’t hop onto the podcast bandwagon because there’s always so much to do but so little time!
Plus, I mostly enjoy the silence and rhythm of being outside when I go for my walks and runs and basically end up not listening to anything.
Until recently.
With a long daily commute to work and regular car drives to various places, I’ve come to appreciate the value of a good podcast, whether for inspiration, creativity, or just every day life.
While I sometimes end up listening to music or just enjoying the silence, depending on my mood, podcasts inject value into my drives and train rides when I need them, while keeping me informed and/or entertained on the go.
The “MUST LISTEN” List (aka my go-tos)
The 4 podcasts you should be listening to are also my go-to podcasts. They are the ones I switch on when I need a podcast fix, when I want to learn something new, when I need inspiration. And most of the time, I end up listening to every single episode of these shows.
And to be honest, these shows are the ones which I’ve learned so much from and picked up things that I actually use in my daily life.
This is your life with Michael Hyatt
This is one of those I love and listen to regularly. Each episode is so practical and applicable and I enjoy the show format as well.
The 5 AM Miracle with Jeff Sanders
A podcast dedicated to “dominating your day before breakfast”, this podcast is upbeat, informative and easy to listen to.
The Productivity Show by Asian Efficiency
As it’s name suggests, this podcast is all about productivity. It’s another interesting, practical one with topics I enjoy listening to.
Elise Gets Crafty
Focusing on creative business, this casual and conversational has a wide variety of guests and topics that Elise brings on board.
The “I LIKE THIS” list
These podcasts are ones that I enjoy and listen to occasionally when I get the chance to. With these, I tend to pick and choose episodes that appeal to me more, then let them play in the background as I on projects. But overall, they have meaningful content.
Raise Your Hand Say Yes with Tiffany Han
For all the creatives out there, this podcast brings to light the adventures of creative people so you don’t leave uninspired.
The Lively Show
Aimed at bringing intention into the every day, Jess focuses a lot on wellness, with a mix of other topics including relationships, business and life.
Paperclipping Roundtable
This one can run a little long sometimes, but Noell and Izzy host great discussions on what goes on in the crafty/scrapbooking world.
The “LET’S TRY THIS” list
This final list is one with podcasts I want to try out, or ones I’ve tried that have been somewhat of a hit and miss for me, but ones I’m willing to give a second-chance to.
I’m particularly hopeful about Pat Flynn’s Smart Passive Income, Seanwes and Make It Happen.
The Smart Passive Income Podcast
I’ve heard so many great things about Pat Flynn and his podcast but I haven’t fully engaged with it yet. I’ll wait and see how this goes.
Seanwes
This is another highly recommended one. I haven’t listened to many episodes yet, but I’ve really enjoyed those I’ve listened to. Time to dig deeper with this!
Make It Happen
I’m not sure if there are any new episodes to this podcast, which is hosted by Jen Carrington, but this one is new to me and I can’t wait to start listening!
Being Boss
Some of these episodes haven’t been as engaging as I expected but some recent episodes look interesting so I might try it out again!
She Percolates with Jen Hatzung & Danielle Spurge
Imagine yourself sitting in a coffee shop on Friday afternoons, chatting with your girlfriends. That’s what this podcast is about.
I listen and subscribe to these podcasts on Stitcher and I don’t listen to them in any particular order; I just pick whichever I feel like listening to that day and go with it. After all, since my time is limited, I only want to listen to what interests me instead of listening to out of mere obligation or routine.
Sometimes I also match the length of my podcast to the length of my commute which allows me to actually finish listening to the episode I choose.
I’ve really enjoyed being on the podcast bandwagon and I love discovering new ones! What are your favorites? What is your favorite way to listen to podcasts?
P.S. Check out Ann-Marie‘s and Caylee’s list of podcasts if you want more options!
Thank you so much for sharing + including The Lively Show in this lineup of awesome podcasts. : )
Love,
Jess!
