Like many of those I’ve interviewed for this series, I discovered Tracy on Instagram and quickly fell in love with her fun and unique style of scrapbooking. Tracy is also the capable lady behind the #singlegirlsb movement. Currently, there are over 1000 photos on that hashtag – talk about inspiring a revolution! Welcome to the blog, Tracy!
Tell me about yourself. My name is Tracy, I’m 26 and I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I obviously love to scrapbook, though I do Project Life instead of traditional layouts. My favourite thing in the world is my rescue-dog Sophie. She’s absolutely my best friend. I also enjoy watching movies, listening to music and drinking numerous cups of coffee daily.
What is one weird or interesting fact about you? I can eat the same thing for days on end and not get tired of it. Right now, it’s popcorn. Over the past three weeks I have eaten popcorn every single day.
What do you do to express your creativity? I do Project Life to express my creativity. I work full time and my job doesn’t allow me to be as creative as I would like. So when I discovered Project Life back in 2012, I knew this was exactly what I needed in my life. I work on my album almost every day.
Who or what inspires you? Inspiration is everywhere but Instagram is my favourite place to go. I love going through the #projectlife and #singlegirlsb hashtags. Also my day to day life inspires me, if you look at my Project Life pages, they are basically an extension of what I love about my home. Black, white, gold, pink and bold patterns.
Name your top five favorite tools or products. My go-to tools and products are the monthly Project Life kits by Studio Calico, my Tim Holtz tiny attacher (with gold staples from American Crafts), any kind of gold embellishments, vellum/wood veneers and my iPhone. I only take pictures with my iPhone because I don’t have a big fancy DSLR camera.
Are you an early bird or a night owl? When are you most productive? I used to always be a night owl, but when I got Sophie 5 years ago, I quickly became a morning person – which works well for her but also because I start work between 8-9am. I wake up at 6am each weekday morning so Sophie has time to play around before I head off to work for the day. That said, during the week I do all my scrapbooking after work to relax and wind myself down.
What project(s) are you currently working on? As always, I’m currently working on my 2014 Project Life album, I’m also working on projects for both Chic Tags and Studio Calico right now. I have a mini album about New York that I’ve been slowly putting together as well.
If you had to be a color in a crayon box, which color would you be? If I were a crayon color, I would be Shocking Pink.
If you could possess a super power, which one would you choose? I would love to be able to teleport to anywhere in the world with a snap of my fingers.
Keep following Tracy’s blog, Instagram and Pinterest for more inspiration!
